OK! You have just decided you need to get your business on the Internet - very sensible decision. The big question is; How?
The first thing to remember is that the normal rules of business apply in cyberspace just as they do in any business environment. It's your business, you know it better than anyone else and you need to maintain control over the internet aspect just as you would any other part of your business.
If you hire someone to build your website, make sure you own the copyrights to all the text and images used on your web site, that you have all the passwords necessary to access your accounts.
A Marketing Website is much more than simply an electronic version of the Yellow Pages and can provide your business with much more and at a fraction of the cost.
However building a successful website is also much different to designing a yellow pages advertisement. If a yellow pages advertisement can be thought of as '2 dimensional' -- 1 dimension being graphics, a second dimension being the message or wording -- then a website has a third dimension which is the Internet itself and the way people use it.
